The Ixworth Enrichment Provision

We are very ambitious with our curriculum.  Students experience high quality Teaching & Learning in all classes.  However, we do not only focus on the academic performance of our students.   We ensure the 'whole student' is catered for, developing them beyond the classroom following a very similar model to many highly successful Independent Schools.  We have six main strands to our Enrichment package:

• Fortnightly Enrichment - 100mins

• Summer Enrichment Week - the final week of each academic year

• Clubs, after school activities, revision sessions and fixtures.

• Educational Trips and Visits

• Christmas and Easter Enrichment days

• Music Tuition

Why Enrichment matters...

According to the institute of Student Employers; 

In 2025, 54% of employers reported that graduates did not meet expectations in self-awareness (up from 43% in 2024 and 35% in 2023), while 46% reported concerns about resilience (up from 37% in 2024 and 30% in 2023). Work-appropriate verbal communication was a concern for 22% (up from 17% in 2024 and 7% in 2023).'

Our Enrichment package values the development of these and other employability skills.  In addition, we offer unique experiences, life skills and opportunities many may not receive elsewhere.  Enrichment is seen as of the utmost importance within the school which has resulted in a fortnightly 100min of lesson time being allocated to its delivery.  It has its own curriculum, designed with the three year Key Stage 3 in mind and offer students over 25 different opportunities and numerous combinations for a bespoke package unique to each individual.  

Enrichment at Ixworth enables 100% of Key Stage 3 students access to the various options, so whether you are a budding professional sports person, a future entrepreneur or the next Prime Minister, there is a package for you!
