Staff Testimonials

Mr Beales

''I started at Ixworth nearly 10 years ago, back then we had 3 years groups with only 35 students per year. Over the years I have undergone many roles from Head of Maths, Trust Maths lead, Enrichment lead and Assistant Headteacher. I've been fortunate enough to take 7 trips to Italy over the years, providing students with some great memories.

The thing I'm proudest of is that I have the distinction of having taught every student that's ever attended the school. Throughout the growth of the school over the years, the one constant has been the kindness and support from the families that make up our school community who make us feel so appreciated every chance they get. To all considering coming to work at Ixworth, all you need to do is visit us once and meet our students and staff! You will definitely want to  come back..''

Mrs Morris

"I have worked at Ixworth School for over two years as part of the Safeguarding Team, and I feel incredibly proud to be part of such a supportive and dedicated environment. My role allows me to work closely not only with safeguarding but also with the pastoral and behaviour teams, ensuring that every student receives the care and guidance they need to thrive.

Before joining Ixworth, I spent nine years working in education, including time as an Assistant Head of Year. That experience gave me a strong foundation in supporting young people both academically and emotionally, something I continue to feel passionate about here.

Ixworth is a school that truly puts students at the heart of everything it does, and it’s a privilege to be part of a team that works so hard to create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment."

Mr Slow

''Having joined Ixworth High School as an ECT Year Two History/Humanities teacher last September, I have become part of the famous Ixworth close-knit community where everyone supports each other. All staff and pupils are kind and welcoming. Having moved from working in a school in the Middle East this was a big change, but a big change made much easier by the Ixworth community. I have been given a lot of support as part of my ECT training with regular meetings for mentoring with senior staff members.

The school as a whole is supportive of you as an individual allowing you to pursue further training and to offer further activities for the pupils. This year I have been encouraged and supported in applying for an NPQ for SENCO for next year as well CPD training on the Holocaust. The PE department have also helped me return to coaching sports and I have been running sports activities. Overall, based on my experience this year, Ixworth is a great school to work at.''

Miss Deane

"Working as a teaching assistant at Ixworth High School, I have the privilege of supporting students' academic learning. My personal experience of navigating dyslexia and dyscalculia gives me a significant understanding of the daily challenges students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) experience.

Over the past year, I've had the rewarding opportunity to empower students, fostering an appreciation for their unique strengths and individuality. I firmly believe that motivation and empowerment are particularly crucial in enabling SEND students to reach their full potential. At Ixworth High School, SEND is at the core of everything we do, to support a generation proud of their individuality."

Miss Burgess

''I have had the pleasure of working at Ixworth High School for the past four years, during which I’ve taken on a range of responsibilities—from Head of Lower School to my new role as Assistant Head Teacher overseeing behaviour, safeguarding, and attendance.

Each position has allowed me to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and I feel genuinely honoured to be part of such a forward-thinking and compassionate school. My role places me at the heart of student wellbeing, and I’ve been deeply committed to fostering a culture of respect, consistency, and support where every young person has the opportunity to succeed.

What makes Ixworth truly stand out is the unwavering dedication of the staff and the spirit of the students. It’s a school where every individual matters, and where the collective drive to nurture confidence, resilience, and aspiration is evident in every aspect of school life.

Working here has been both inspiring and transformative. It’s a place where values are lived, not just spoken—and I’m proud to have contributed to a school community that prioritises care, high standards, and inclusive growth.''

Miss Baker

''I joined the school in September as Head of the English department, and it has been an incredible journey so far. The school community is both caring and supportive, but what impresses me the most is the students' ambition and their remarkable achievements. Many KS3 students have had their poetry published after entering a national writing competition, and KS4 students have impressed us with their unwavering work ethic whilst studying for their GCSEs.

Looking ahead, I am excited to see our students continue to excel, whether it's through further academic achievements, creative endeavours, or personal growth. It truly is an absolute pleasure to work at the school and to be part of the journey of such inspiring students.''
