Amiens et Paris 2025
Bienvenue!
What a wonderful trip to the beautiful cities of Amiens and Paris. Departing bright and early - maybe not bright at 3am, nevertheless, despite an initial delay, we hit the road to travel to Dover for our ferry crossing to Calais. A lovely, calm crossing was experienced with many students having their first overseas sortie.
After a days travelling we arrived in the beautiful city of Amiens to take up residence for 2 nights. A tour of the city proceeded dinner in a local restaurant before an early night for weary heads. The next morning, we were up bright and early the next day to travel to Chateau Gaillard, perched above the Seine and the medieval town of Les Andelys students were able to take in the stunning views before witnessing a series of duals from some modern Knights! We then followed this with a visit to Giverny to visit the home of Claude Monet and his notorious Gardens. Following this packed day and another wonderful evening meal, we made our way to the city centre to view Amiens Cathedral at night. The light show was superb, over 30 students sat in total mesmerised silence. A very fatigued group, having enjoyed the experience, made their way back to the hotel for a well earned rest!
The next day, the group moved from Amiens to Paris for a Bateaux Mouche trip of the Seine a stop off at the stunning Montmartre and Sacre Coeur before heading to our final night in the Hotel.
On the return leg the group visited a specialist Chocolaterie en route for gifts before heading to Cite Europe for some last minute shopping before a return ferry. While this was a packed trip, it was an exceptionally interesting one and the group of students were amazing throughout. Next year, the Loire!!!
