In-Year Admissions

As a school of choice, Ixworth is often oversubscribed. We highly recommend any prospective parents to book a tour of the school prior to applying. In-year admissions are managed by Ixworth High School's admissions team. In order to arrange your tour, please contact the team via aaa@ixworthhighschool.org. Please complete the below application form and either email to the admissions address or hand this into the front office.

Admissions for Yr 10/11 (Year 9 from May)

Year 9 start their GCSE options from May half term each year. Therefore, if you are joining from Year 9 (May onwards), 10 and 11, some option choices may already be at full capacity.

In Year Application Form

Once a decision has been reached, your information will be shared with Suffolk County Council Admissions Team. All personal data is processed in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Please note that the Year 11 options available may change each year due to popularity and limited availability. We will work with you to support your child's options as much as possible within our capabilities.

Waiting Lists

We are an oversubscribed secondary school. Due to this, we operate a waiting list when the number of students reach the PAN in any given cohort. Whilst we recommend any parents moving to the area to complete an in year application form, we can not always guarantee spaces are available for your child. We will maintain an in-year waiting list. If you are on the list, we will notify you when a place becomes available.

School Transport

Please contact Suffolk County Council’s transport department on 0345 606 6173 or visit Suffolk County Council’s School Transport Website for further information about their current school transport policies and procedures.
