Student/Parent
Y10 Work Experience
We are very pleased to provide students in Year 10 with the opportunity to take on a real-world work experience placement this academic year.
Students gain a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience from these opportunities. Examples such as workplace interactions between employer and employee, developing the knowledge and skills that working in a collaborative environment provide, practical, transferable skills related to the business they have chosen, and a whole host of other valuable insights and experiences.
This year our Year 10 Work Experience will take place: Monday 6th July – Friday 10th July 2026 (Monday 13th July – Friday 17th July 2026 is the penultimate week of the school year and will allow Y10 students to participate in the Enrichment events taking place in the final week, or in certain cases, extend their work placements.)
In the first instance, students should make their own arrangements for their work experience placements. We have partnered up with previous companies that are willing to support your application if you are unsure. Contacting employers proactively is a brilliant first impression and allows you to understand the expectations of their work experience structure. It would be beneficial if placements could take place in areas that relate to each student’s own future career aspiration, however this is not always practical or possible. It would be helpful if you could assist and support your child in finding and contacting suitable businesses to arrange their work experience week. Once placements have been arranged, we will then speak to the required employers to ensure they are fully compliant with all the Health and Safety requirements for work placement students.
In school, we will be supporting students with the process through a series of Tutor time activities to ensure they are fully prepared for the week.
Students need to complete the work experience application form and return it to school no later than the Friday 20th March 2026. This is an online form that you can access via:
